Privacy Policy

PakStudent is a free educational platform for Class 9 and Class 10 students of all boards in Pakistan. This Privacy Policy explains — in plain words — what information we collect, why we collect it, where it is stored, who can see it, and the choices you and your parents have. By using PakStudent you agree to this policy. If you are under 18, your parent or guardian should read this page with you.
1. Information we collect

2. What we never collect
- Bank account, ATM card or wallet details — rewards are arranged with parents, never through student bank data;
- Your precise location, contacts, or files you did not choose to upload;
- Passwords in readable form.

- To create and manage your account and student profile;
- To read your uploaded chapters, solve your exercises, unlock chapters, record test results and calculate rewards;
- To verify schools and display school fee transparency and rankings (school-level information only);
- To show verified toppers (name, school, board, score, photo) on the public Toppers wall — only for students scoring 40% (pass mark) or more;
- To contact parents with result reports on the mobile numbers provided;
- To keep the platform safe (moderation, strikes, bans) and to improve our educational content.
5. Advertising and Google AdSense
PakStudent is free because it is supported by advertising. When ads are enabled (Google AdSense):
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to our site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You may opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings. You can also visit www.aboutads.info/choices to opt out of other vendors' personalised advertising.
- Where the law requires it (for example in the European Economic Area and the UK), we ask for your consent through our cookie banner before any advertising cookies are set. Rejecting cookies does not stop you learning — the site works either way.
6. Cookies and browser storage
We use a small number of cookies and browser-storage entries to remember your login session, your cookie choice, and (if ads are enabled) advertising preferences. The full list — including exact storage names and durations — is in our Cookie Policy.
7. Children's privacy
Most of our students are minors, and protecting them is central to PakStudent: registration requires a parent's or guardian's consent; photos and CNIC images stay on the student's own device; we never sell student data; and public listings are limited to earned achievements. 8. Who can see your data
- You and your parents — everything, on your own device;
- Site admins — profile information, uploads and reports, for verification, moderation and reward processing;
- The public — only earned achievements: topper listings (name, school, board, score) for students at the 40%+ pass mark, and school-level rankings. Mobile numbers and CNIC photos are never public;
- Service providers — e.g. Google (advertising, when enabled), each under its own privacy terms.
We do not sell, rent or trade personal data to anyone.
9. How long data is kept
Data stays in your browser until you delete it, clear your browser storage, or restore a different backup. Admin moderation records derived from uploads are kept as long as needed for safety and reward auditing. You can ask us to remove a topper listing at any time.
10. Your rights and choices
- Export: download a backup of your data (dashboard / admin panel → Backup);
- Delete: clear site data for www.pakstudent.com in your browser to erase your local account and progress, or ask us via the Contact page;
- Correct: contact us to fix wrong profile information;
- Hide: parents may ask us to hide a child's topper listing at any time;
- Cookies: accept or reject advertising cookies in the cookie banner.
11. Data security
Passwords are stored as salted PBKDF2 hashes (100,000 iterations). Five failed login attempts lock the account for 10 minutes. Sessions expire automatically after 7 days. Uploads are restricted to safe file types. No method is 100% secure, but we work continuously to protect your information.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top always shows the latest version, and material changes will be announced through admin messages inside the website.
